Nathan studied Film History at college before attending university where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism and Film Production. Post-graduation, he began interning under award-winning New York photographer Danny Clinch. This led to a full-circle moment when Clinch asked Haynes to lens the behind-the-scenes photographs and contribute to the cinematography on the John Varvatos SS13 campaign, which featured Icons Gary Clark Jr and Jimmy Page.

He went on to intern with master printer Ryan Speth and founder of Gotham Imaging, Peter Berberian. This encouraging experience led him to a role at Niche Editions, where he became a print technician, collaborating with photographers, artists, and institutions to produce fine art prints and reproductions across England and Europe.

Later he moved to Canada where his body of work landed him a roster spot at Partners Film in Toronto as a commercial director. He directed and lensed work for a range of advertising campaigns until eventually stepping away to focus on his photographic work.

Nathan now happily lives with his wonderful wife and family in Canada.
